>CREATIVITY>Ye are the Angels
YE ARE THE ANGELS!

We are but the dust
No! Ye are the angels
If your feet be firm

Corrupt be out hearts
No! Ye are the angels
If your spirits be rejoiced

Afflicted minds we possess
No! Ye are the angels
If your thoughts be pure

Blindly we stumble on
No! Ye are the angels
If your eyes be consoled

We heed not the Tongue of Glory
No! Ye are the angels
If your ears be opened

Impurities infect our lungs
No! Ye are the angels
If your breast be dilated with joy

Our self-pity doth injure us
No! Ye are the angels
If your souls be gladdened

Weakly we yield our pact
No! Ye are the angels
If you arise to assist the Covenant
To resist dissension
And be attracted to the Effulgence
Ye are the angels!

With hearts as polished mirrors
Let the Effulgence reflect
That light may emanate from you
Like the rays of the sun
For ye are the angels!

Written by Vincent Afnán-Murray

Based on the following quote of Abdu'l-Bahá:

"Ye are the angels, if your feet be firm, your spirits rejoiced,
your secret thoughts pure, your eyes consoled, your ears opened,
your breasts dilated with joy, and your souls gladdened,
and if you arise to assist the Covenant, to resist dissension
and be attracted to the Effulgence!"
